Jay Raftery is a Central Coast local. His family first moved to south San Luis Obispo County more than 30 years ago. He grew up celebrating the community from Clam and Strawberry Festivals to the weekly Farmer's Market in San Luis Obispo. In the early 1990's you may have heard his voice on KZOZ "Z-93" FM also with other Central Coast greats Cory Roberts, Rick Andrews and Chris Ruh.

Jay left the Central Coast in 1992 to serve his Country and joined the U.S. Navy. In the Navy, Jay was stationed aboard Los Angeles class, fast-attack submarines. He also had the honor of serving as a U.S. Navy diver. In 1996 he was honorably discharged from the military and he began school at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California where he graduated in 1998 with recognition. Jay then proceded to work on the corporate side of the entertainment business providing finance and marketing support to some of the world's largest movie studios.

In his first attorney job in Phoenix, Arizona, Jay received the honorable title of "Mr. Hollywood" as he served as the firm's resident expert on entertainment legal matters in addition to his work in both the general corporate and healthcare markets. His skills in these highly regulatory areas allowed him to develop in other practice areas and gain expertise in intellectual property and estate law. He has also represented numerous clients in family law matters.
